I honestly can’t remember the last time I sat through such a long film without yawning. We’re living in a time where people can barely focus beyond 90-second reels and scroll every three seconds, so releasing a 3 hour 45 minute film is a bold move. But Aditya Dhar clearly knows what he’s doing, and by the end of the movie, he proves it.
From start to finish, the film keeps you hooked. The background score, the song choices, the pacing, all on another level. The cast is stacked and they show up. Akshaye Khanna absolutely killed it. Arjun Rampal was true to his character and gave a layered performance. I loved Ranveer Singh’s acting in most of the film, though towards the end it felt like he lost a bit of that sharpness.
The disclaimer says it’s inspired by real events but the characters are fictional, so I’m not getting into the political angle or how Pakistanis are portrayed. Everyone will have their own take on that. As a spy thriller though, this is a full 10/10 for me. The music and editing deserve 10/10 too. The cast gets a strong 9/10 mostly because I expected a little more from R. Madhavan @actormaddy The director definitely could’ve utilised his acting skills a bit more.
Overall rating: 9/10.
