@kapilsharma returns to the big screen with the second installment of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, arriving a decade after the release of its first instalment. The first film emerged during a peak era of romantic comedies, when audiences willingly suspended their logic in favor of lighthearted humor. However, cinema has evolved since then, and today’s viewers expect sharper writing and situational coherence even in comedy-driven narratives.
In this installment, Kapil Sharma remains true to his established persona: witty, expressive, and effortlessly humorous. This is precisely the version of Kapil that audiences enjoy watching, and he delivers consistently within the framework provided. @fukravarun absence is noticeable, as his role has been taken over by @oyemanjot. While Manjot performs sincerely and aligns well with the writing, the organic comic chemistry that once existed between Kapil and Varun Sharma is missed, and this does impact the overall humor quotient of the film.
The female cast, including Tridha Chaudhary, Warina Hussain, and Ayesha Khan, performs adequately and supports the narrative where required. The music is largely forgettable; certain song placements, particularly the dance sequence featuring Tridha Chaudhary, feel disconnected from the narrative flow. The inclusion of @yoyohoneysingh as an X Factor also fails to leave a lasting impression.
What could have significantly improved the film is strong focusing situational comedy rather than reliance on familiar elements, along with a more impactful supporting character dynamic to compensate for the missing Kapil–Varun Sharma pairing. Tighter editing and better integration of music into the story might have enhanced audience engagement as well.
Overall, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is a decent, one-time watch that offers occasional laughs but lacks the charm and freshness of the first installment. Compared to its predecessor, the sequel feels less spontaneous and more restrained, making it harder to recreate the same level of audience connection that once made the franchise memorable.
